Medical Qigong Practitioner (MQP)

There are no prerequisites to begin the first course (P1) of this primary level certification. A 200 hour Medical Qigong Practitioner (M.Q.P.) certificate will be issued to students who have successfully completed Courses P1 through P4 plus the Clinical Internship, which include 128 experiential and academic hours plus 72 hours of Clinical Internship.

The Five Courses

P1 - Introduces the student to over 20 medical qigong exercises and meditation for self-healing and awareness training, and an analytical understanding of their use. These skills treat body, emotions, energy, mind, and spirit. The topics of energetic anatomy and physiology are introduced, along with Five Element correspondences to the Five Yin Organ Systems, emotions, senses, seasons, and more. The same exercises taught for self-healing in P1 become the vocabulary to make individual client exercise prescriptions, in P4. (more)

P2 - The second course offers opportunities to strengthen the body's protective energy field (Wei Qi), and learn methods to avoid absorbing toxic qi in a clinical environment. We will work directly with energetic perception and emission, and the basic IIMQ medical qigong treatment protocols for treating clients will be taught. (more)

P3 - The third course introduces students to advanced theories of energy purgation, tonification, regulation and cultivation, as well as exercises and meditations used as homework prescriptions in the Medical Qigong Clinic. (more)

P4 - In the fourth course the medical qigong students will be introduced to advanced theories and clinical modalities of internal organ treatment. (more)

Clinical Internship - In the fifth course, written, oral, and practical examinations plus clinical competencies are included. Successful completion of the examinations will enable the student to qualify for the more advanced 500-hour Medical Qigong Therapist (MQT) program.
